Caged Ladder, Platform Drawings and CAD Files

Alaco provides free CAD drawings and specifications for all caged roof access ladders and rest platform configurations. Each model includes ladder drawings in PDF, DXF, and DWG formats, plus 3-part specifications, bracket details, and security door drawings for project planning and architectural submittals.

Models ending in -C include a safety cage. Models ending in -CP include a safety cage plus a rest platform for taller climbs. Choose your model below to download the files you need.

What do the -C and -CP model codes mean?

Models ending in -C include a safety cage around the climbing area. Models ending in -CP include both a safety cage and a rest platform, which gives climbers a secure place to pause on taller ladder runs.

Existing fixed ladders installed before November 19, 2018 may still use a cage under OSHA 1910.28(b)(9). However, new fixed ladders over 24 feet require a ladder safety system or personal fall arrest system, and by November 18, 2036 cages alone will no longer qualify. 

Rest platforms provide climbers with a secure stopping point on long ladder runs and are commonly specified for taller installations. Requirements vary based on ladder height, configuration, and the fall protection system used; our team can confirm what your project needs during design.

All caged ladder drawings are available in PDF, DXF, and DWG formats, with specifications in DOC and PDF. DWG and DXF files work with AutoCAD and most CAD software for direct use in your project drawings.

Yes. Cages can remain in place alongside a ladder safety system or a personal fall arrest system, a common approach for meeting current OSHA requirements while maintaining the physical protection of a cage.
